Easy 2 Card Spread - If - Then?

If we want to get more out of our cards (oracle or tarot) and lets face it - we all do! Tarot and oracle spreads are our go-to. As an experienced psychic medium, I want an easy 2 card spread that is reliable and can help me gain the most information from each card. This easy 2 card spread supports us to do this by adding context and parameters for the card we are reading within the spread. This then provides us with some much-needed structure to read the combination of the cards. If you are new to this go here first.

With an easy 2 card spread we can play around with this idea, without getting overwhelmed.

An easy 2 card spread is the IF and THEN spread. IF this is the case, or IF this happens - THEN this will happen after that. A progression, which, when we are reading tarot or oracle cards is what we are looking for - what will happen (bite fingernails and look apprehensively)!

You can grab your set of cards, oracle or tarot and play along with me. Today I am using an old reliable oracle deck, The Enchanted Map Oracle, by Colette Baron-Reid.

Card #1 IF — Moonlight No. 51

Card #2 THEN — Coming to Life No. 29

Card #1 IF:

Moonlight, first thing I am drawn to is the hourglass, signifying time. I am also seeing the wings like dragonflies, which have been prominent for me recently, signifying change and transformation. The moon of course, and the colour of the card is deep indigo blue, or midnight blue (which then brings the song in my head). There is the structure she is standing on (which is ordered and strong) and we also have ferns that also symbolise rebirth.

The guidebook interpretation:

'Your intuition allows you to see beyond the mundane, logical, and analytical. Follow it."

‘Moonlight beckons. Come, and trust your intuition to lead you into places that may not seem logical. Your hunches will be right on target. Resist “second-guessing” yourself, for your alternative perception is especially sharp right now. You can see beyond the surface of things and truly read between the lines. This is a good time to use oracle cards or other systems of divination to gain information.

Remember that the language of intuition is a symbolic one. It comes subtly through a hunch, a “tingling,” a clear sound, or an animal or object crossing your path. Spirit is sending you messages to help you now. Success is yours if you follow the signs.’

The message: This easy 2 card spread helps me to see and seems very apt (using oracle cards 😊), that even though I cannot see the bigger picture (the symbolism of the moon – not everything is illuminated) if I continue down this path it will lead to the success I want. There are also signs for me to follow from spirit and to add to this, I can allow my intuition to be my guide!

Coming to Life No. 29

This card is showing a statue, someone who has been stuck solid, emerging from the stone. Dancing and holding onto a beautiful energy ball with a butterfly magically present.

'When you look at your life, can you see how you’ve grown and evolved over time? Perhaps you’ve shed “skins” and identities and created new ones, or at the very least matured in your ideas about yourself and the world you inhabit. You know things take time, and Spirit’s timetable is rarely in sync with your own.

This card indicates that a long-held dream is beginning to show signs of life. You must try not to coax it along, or shape it according to your desires. Spirit knows the best form for the manifestation of this dream, and your life can become even better than you could possibly imagine. Now is the time for reverence and awe. Allow the contours of your path to be carved by the hands of the Divine. All you have to do is show up'.

The message: Out of the darkness and the stuck or stillness comes the light. The path I am on is the right one. My need (childlike demands) that it be in my timeframe are a mere nuisance on my path.

The reading message: Spirit has got this for me. The divine is leading me (perhaps a little too slowly for me 😉) exactly where I am to be. If I continue on this career path, I will manifest the life I am dreaming of. And if I hand the reins over, I can expect that it can be better than I have even imagined.

Advice: sit back and enjoy the ride.
